The two-day event included over 200 booths, yummy food, music, and activities for the kiddos.IMAG4914 IMAG4922-1 It was wonderful to meet new members of the Idaho Authors’ Community (IAC) and learn about their books. I now have an even longer list of books that I can’t wait to read!

Letter from AJ

I had a fantastic time at Frontier Days in Idaho City. I met a lot of friendly folks, talked about books, and enjoyed fresh squeezed lemonade. It was a very hot day, but that didn’t stop people from dressing up and participating in the festivities.
IMAG4288IMAG4299-1Frontier Days included a lot of fun activities for children such as making butter and watching chicken poop bingo! My son enjoyed the scavenger hunt. He learned fun facts about the historic buildings in Idaho City and seemed especially interested in the local newspaper building. He loved looking at the old cannons and pretending that he was sheriff for the day.
IMAG4306-1My daughter practiced her walking skills and discovered that she likes ice cream…a lot.
IMAG4301IMAG4289My little family had a blast at Frontier Days, but the fun didn’t stop there. We decided to stay in Idaho City to cool off in the creek and camp.

I went to Idaho City when I was a little girl, but I forgot how much fun it was. Being a member of the Idaho Authors’ Community has been a wonderful experience so far. I look forward to traveling more of my home state and connecting even more to my roots.

Read today and every day to come because reading is so much fun!

Best wishes,

480760_10200807191803150_807515815_nMy book signing last Saturday was my most memorable one yet. Family that I hadn’t seen for years came to the signing and gifted me a very special pen. I met a lot of amazing kiddos and a sweet little old lady named Catherine. She gave me a beautiful blue clasp pocketbook that she’s had for years. We chatted for quite some time about ideas for future books. She had boat loads of them! All of her ideas included magic and mystery and fun, which are all great ingredients to get children excited about reading. My goal is that all of my books inspire children to use their mighty imaginations. Mama’s Purse does just that, and I am excited about getting some new ideas onto paper and eventually into the hands of eager little readers.

Read today and every day to come because reading is so much fun!

Best wishes,

AJ
